Oral Proficiency Assessments

The Minnesota English Language Program (MELP) has been funded to develop and provide oral proficiency assessments for undergraduate international students who are newly admitted to the University of Minnesota. Advisers who work with the Minnesota English Language Program to offer oral proficiency assessments as an option to international students receive information about student's speaking ability in English which helps them advise students so that students can be better prepared for the specific academic challenges they may encounter.
