The WINS coordinator works with CLA and advising to ensure there are enough non-native speaker sections of WRIT 1301 to satisfy demand and that students are guided to the sections that best fit their needs. This is also done by participating in ISSS new student orientation fairs and attending regular meetings of the Academic Services for International Students group that brings together many entities on campus that serve this population. The coordinator also does outreach and professional development for instructors and faculty within Writing Studies as well as through collaboration with the Center for Writing. A resource website for instructors who work with international students and their writing will go online for the fall 2016 semester as well and will be available University-wide.
